About Keys to Everything
ABOUT KeysToEverything
Revamped on 9 January 2009
Let’s get one small thing out of the way first. I know “KeysToEverything” is long and awkward to type, so if you need to do so put “KtoE” instead, that’s also what I go by on wordpress, so it refers to both me and my blog, but I also go by Ali (a.k.a my name). Either is fine to address me by.
‘KtoE’ was created on Saturday the 10th November 2007 at 9:07pm. It spiralled off me thinking, “Hey, I can do that too.”
Recently I’ve been losing the will to live when it comes to blogging. My updates have been sporadic and hardly note-worthy, not that they were note-worthy to begin with. I’ve taken a couple of breaks and come back only to punch out reviews that I’m not happy with, so this blog is under revision. I’ll still be updating reviews, but I’m going to make KtoE more personal.
MY REVIEWING SYSTEM
There are a lot of bloggers who complain about people using the track-by-track method of reviewing, citing it to be ‘too restrictive’ and ‘boring to read’. What I say is that it depends on the author.
I can only speak for myself when I say that, for the most part, I enjoy doing track-by-track format reviews. Why? Because in almost every single review I have done on this blog, minus some old songs and a re-review or two, I’m writing it up as I listen to it for the very first time.
That’s why some of my reviews are harsher than others, it’s also why a lot of the time I don’t really have much to say and end up abandoning the post. It’s my system and I’ll stick to it. A lot of the time I’ll even end up using my own reviews to see which songs I liked when I listened to them, if I’m not familiar with the artist/album/single, and also, it’s a good gauge of whether or not I want to bother trying them again.
You’ll continue to see track-by-track reviews, but they won’t necessarily be the only reviews you see. I’m mixing it up now, hopefully I can start blogging with some more enthusiasm now!
On that note
MY RATING SYSTEM
These comments are not universal. Sometimes I don’t particularly like songs, but I realise that the vocals/instrumentation/feelings/whatever is good enough to warrant a certain rating. My advice is always read the comments on the track first.
A* Perfect
A+ Awesome
A Brilliant
A- Very Very Good
B+ Very Good
B Good
B- Okay
C+ Dissappointing
C Very Disappointing
C- Bad

Hey, thanks a lot for the comment/add~
I (think) I’ve actually seen your blog before now, most likely before I made mine… o-o;;
Anyway, I think it’s great~ Keep it up~ Also, I added you back. ^^
( And we all have our slow days/weeks, so the updating doesn’t really matter. It IS your blog after all, do it whenever you want. >> )

Hahah, I was the same when Wota featured me for the first time yesterday. >> (Or, at least, it was the first time I’ve ever seen myself up there…) It surprises me that anyone gets to mine, too, though. That’s how everyone feels about their blog, I guess.
But yeah, I’m sure I saw your blog last month just before I started mine… I have a bad memory, so I obviously forgot, but seeing it reminded me. >>;;

Yeah, goes to show just how popular Polyrhythm was for them, to suddenly get such a fan base…
I had another blog right before this one, and it was just as bad with comments. This one only get so much because it’s the same few people and I had pre-exposure, I guess.
Anyway, I should probably stop spamming your comments here.. xD;;
Thanks again for the add~

btw, I’ve only been reviewing unknown stuff for a while because the big day (every month, on a Wednesday, a lot of artists release albums and singles, more than on other Wednesdays) passed with only three singles from the bands/artists that I review.
That’s why I’m really excited about November 12th now!
